Mike Murphy is president of ASG-CT, an Atlas Settlement Group member headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut. Mike’s expertise guiding sophisticated “tort industry” leaders in the implementation of structured settlements to negotiate their most intricate claims has achieved successful resolution of tens of thousands of cases with a better than industry-standard rate of success.
As an internationally-recognized specialist in structured settlement logistics, Mike is a preferred partner of clients worldwide including Lloyds of London Underwriters, Fortune 500 transportation and healthcare industry captive insurers, domestic and offshore excess surplus carriers and industry leaders in property & casualty and workers compensation insurance. With the support of the ASG-CT Compliance Department, Mike has created enhanced analysis methods for expert reports on future life care needs and future economic loss that are frequently adopted by mediators, arbitrators, judges as well as settlement parties. Mike provides state-of-the-art guidance to clients that deploys structured settlements as a precision tool to overcome obstacles to settlement.
In addition to attending mediations, strategy round tables and judicial hearings as a claim resolution consultant, Mike participates frequently in industry leadership panels, educational speaking engagements and CLE and CE presentations. Mike was integral in creating one of the first structured settlements for future environmental liabilities approved by the U.S. Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division, Environmental Enforcement Section.
Prior to founding ASG-CT in 2005, Mike was the principal and president of Ringler Associates Connecticut for seven years. Previously, he was regional vice president for the northeastern United States for Wells & Associates, a national structured settlements firm, and was national director of pension marketing for United Pacific Life Insurance Company. He received a Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation in 1996. He is a member of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA).
