John joins Atlas Settlements Group with 35 years of experience. He is a settlement consultant specializing in medical negligence and other catastrophic cases involving minors and incapacitated adults. He has participated in more than a thousand mediations, settlement conferences and pretrial hearings with the goal of facilitating settlements that provide security and peace of mind to injured individuals and their families.
John’s first job after college was with Galaher Settlements where he managed the post settlement unit and served as a troubleshooter on difficult cases. He then joined Niemi & Associates before moving to Chicago (from Boston) to work for MMI Inc., a national healthcare liability insurance company.
At MMI John served as AVP of Claims, specializing in economic damage analysis and traveling nearly full time negotiating high exposure cases. In 2000, when MMI was purchased by St. Paul, (later merged with Travelers) John returned to structured settlement consulting with Arcadia Settlements Group where he worked for 22 years.
John works with preeminent claim professionals, risk managers and the best attorneys on both sides to provide for the needs injured plaintiffs while extinguishing a defendant’s potential liability.
John received a BA in Economics and a BA in Organizational Behavior and Management from Brown University (’86). He is a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA) and is involved with the NSSTA PAC that is focused on educating legislators and preserving the benefits of structured settlements for both injured individuals and settling defendants.
