Phillip M. Krause is a financial services and settlement planning executive with more than 20 years of experience working with attorneys, insurers, financial institutions, fiduciaries, and settlement professionals to develop sophisticated solutions for the preservation, management, and distribution of settlement proceeds.
Throughout his career, Phillip has developed specialized expertise in Structured Settlements, Qualified Settlement Funds (QSFs), Settlement and Special Needs Trusts, Structured & Deferred Attorney Fee Deferrals, Investment and Asset Management, and Post-settlement Financial Planning. His experience includes consulting on catastrophic injury, mass tort, and class action matters, as well as developing settlement strategies and financial solutions for insurers, life insurance companies, law firms, and individual claimants.
Phillip currently serves as President of Structured LLC and Principal of Krause Capital, Inc. He is also a FINRA Arbitrator and Subject Matter Expert in Financial Services with GLG. His multidisciplinary background allows him to help bridge the legal, insurance, investment, fiduciary, and financial-planning considerations that frequently converge in complex settlements.
Prior to his current roles, Phillip held leadership and advisory positions with several prominent financial services and settlement organizations. He served as Managing Director of Strategic Planning and National Director of Strategic Partnerships at Ringler, where he was also an Associate & a shareholder. Earlier in his career, he held positions with Morgan Stanley, Raymond James, Ameriprise Financial, and American Express Financial Advisors.
His settlement and litigation consulting experience has included matters associated with the NFL Concussion Settlement, the Dr. Larry Nassar/Michigan State University Settlement, Monsanto ROUNDUP product liability litigation, and the Los Angeles Unified School District/Miramonte School matter.
Phillip holds a BA from Rhodes College and has completed advanced professional and executive education through the University of Miami’s Executive CFO®, Cornell University’s Executive Financial Management and Professional Mediation Program, Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation and Leadership, Columbia Law School’s Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP), the University of Notre Dame’s Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC).
