Raymond Giorgetti joined Atlas Settlements Group in early 2020. Prior to joining Atlas, Ray was a VP and Director for Structured Financial Associates (SFA).
Ray entered the structured settlement field in 1985. From 1973 to 1985 Ray held various liability claims positions with several major insurers (including positions in the home office of Royal Globe Insurance Company and the Excess Claims department of Home Insurance Company).
Ray’s career long focus has been the analysis and negotiation of future damage claims including claims to which CPLR Article 50A or Article 50B apply. He has lectured on structured judgments and future damage analysis for the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), NY State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) CLE program, Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), and he has co-authored articles published in the New York Law Journal.
Ray partners with his son Justin who joined Ray’s LIO operation in 2005. With over 50 years of combined experience Team Giorgetti has worked on thousands of personal injury cases, many of them high exposure cases involving complex damages issues. These cases included Medical Malpractice cases, NY Labor Law cases, Worker’s Compensation cases, Maritime cases, as well as Automobile and General Liability claims. Some of these cases required MSAs and/or SNTFs. Notably, Justin and Ray worked with two major excess insurers to settle over 100 claims related to a National E.coli outbreak.
At the heart of the Team Giorgetti philosophy is that structured settlement experts should be retained before settlement to assist with settlement preparation and strategy as opposed to being retained post settlement to provide “just” another investment option. We believe this holds true whether you are a defendant or a plaintiff.
Ray is a member of CLM and The National Structured Settlement Trade Association. He received his B.A. from Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York. Ray and his wife Nickie have been married since 1974 and have two children and two grandchildren (and are hoping for more).
